MESSAGE OF DAY

Protection of the heart is attained by leading a spiritual life.

The Qur’an is a letter of Divine guidance and happiness sent to all humanity.

Seeing Sufism as redundant amounts to seeing as unnecessary, sincerity, piety, intimate knowledge, purification of the self, and in short, demonstrating a perfect servanthood to Allah.

Allah the Almighty says, “For few of My servants are grateful.” Gratitude is difficult. Merely saying, “Thank you my Lord!” is not sufficient. Being grateful implies using every blessing given in its rightful place.

The prescribed prayer, fasting, the prescribed annual alms, pilgrimage… These are mandatory deeds. But that which indicates the level of the acceptance of our worship is our character and morality.

‘A Messenger has come to you from among yourselves. Your suffering is distressing to him; he is deeply concerned for you; he is gentle and merciful to the believers (Tawba, 9:128)

The Sufis have said, “When you move out of the way, the Creator remains.” Sufism is the ability to break the seal of egotism.

“A pious woman makes her husband happy when he looks at her face; she fulfills her husband’s licit requests; and when he is away from her, she protects his property and honor.” (Ibn Maja, Nikah, 5/1857)

Mawlana Jalal al-Din al-Rumi says: “Entreat God and turn to Him in repentance with a heart filled with the fire of remorse and with eyes filled with tears.  For flowers bloom in places sunlit and moist.”

The essence of the Sufi discipline: harmony with every outward and inward state and manner of the Messenger of Allah and the endeavour to take on his noble character.

The lawful morsel grants the servant vigour, while the unlawful morsel grants heedlessness. From a righteous friend diffuses luminance and spirituality, while from the wrongdoer spreads gloom.

If a person shown goodness and kindness is an enemy, their enmity decreases. If they are neither friend nor foe, they near friendship. If they are friend, their friendship strengthens.

The good works and spending in the way of Allah performed in this world amount to the seeds sown for harvest in the Hereafter.

Allah Almighty wants for us to wake from the slumber of heedlessness before our death. Everyone will wake up when they die, but Allah Almighty wants us to wake before death comes…
