MESSAGE OF DAY

One who does not know where to direct their love, deprived of the guidance of belief, is like a ship whose helm is broken in the middle of the ocean.

The Sufis have said, “When you move out of the way, the Creator remains.” Sufism is the ability to break the seal of egotism.

If a person shown goodness and kindness is an enemy, their enmity decreases. If they are neither friend nor foe, they near friendship. If they are friend, their friendship strengthens.

Acts of worship are observed and performed at set times and places. But servanthood is constant. Belief is the heart’s constant attachment to Allah Almighty.

The essence of the Sufi discipline: harmony with every outward and inward state and manner of the Messenger of Allah and the endeavour to take on his noble character.

Goodness and virtue is the finest form of communicating the message of Islam. For a person is overcome by acts of goodness. Lands are conquered with the sword, while hearts are conquered with goodness and virtue.

The prescribed prayer, fasting, the prescribed annual alms, pilgrimage… These are mandatory deeds. But that which indicates the level of the acceptance of our worship is our character and morality.

Allah Almighty wants for us to wake from the slumber of heedlessness before our death. Everyone will wake up when they die, but Allah Almighty wants us to wake before death comes…

The most disastrous death is the heart’s heedlessness of Allah and its forfeiting His good pleasure and approval.

We need to protect ourselves against such evil habits as pride, arrogance and destructive jealousy, whose roots are found in Hellfire. For one cannot enter Paradise with a character trait whose root is in Hellfire.

Just as radiation is emitted from the atom, every person emits a spiritual radiation. This is why a believer must forever keep company with the righteous.

Children are Divine trusts bestowed upon parents and teachers for the purpose of being equipped with knowledge, perception and good character.

Spending in the way of Allah is an elevated distinction that is the lot of not just anyone. Miserly or two-faced people cannot be worthy of such distinction.

The lawful morsel grants the servant vigour, while the unlawful morsel grants heedlessness. From a righteous friend diffuses luminance and spirituality, while from the wrongdoer spreads gloom.

Religion is a life order regulating every moment of one’s lifetime. It cannot be practised from time to time and shelved at other times.
