MESSAGE OF DAY

Mawlana Jalal al-Din al-Rumi says: “Entreat God and turn to Him in repentance with a heart filled with the fire of remorse and with eyes filled with tears.  For flowers bloom in places sunlit and moist.”

Junayd al-Baghdadi says: “Were you were to see a person flying in the air, it is still falsehood (and not saintly wonder) if it does not conform to the Divine Book and the Prophetic Practice.”

There is no healing in the prohibited.

Goodness and virtue is the finest form of communicating the message of Islam. For a person is overcome by acts of goodness. Lands are conquered with the sword, while hearts are conquered with goodness and virtue.

The trial of every servant is commensurate with the opportunities and capabilities given to them. The servant’s responsibilities increase as their opportunities and capabilities increase.

Goodness and virtue is the finest form of communicating the message of Islam. For a person is overcome by acts of goodness. Lands are conquered with the sword, while hearts are conquered with goodness and virtue.

Children are Divine trusts bestowed upon parents and teachers for the purpose of being equipped with knowledge, perception and good character.

The sign of a deed’s rejection is its being followed by misdeeds; worse still is the evil which follows an act of goodness, wiping out that act of goodness.

If a person shown goodness and kindness is an enemy, their enmity decreases. If they are neither friend nor foe, they near friendship. If they are friend, their friendship strengthens.

Losing eternal opportunities in the effort to hold on to fleeting gains goes against a consciousness of belief.

In the world, the weak are in need of the powerful, the poor in need of the rich and the infirm in need of the healthy. In the Hereafter, however, the powerful are in need of the weak, the healthy in need of the infirm and the rich in need of the poor.

We, all of us, are the students of the school of this world that is an arena of Divine trial. Our education will come to an end with our death and we will be buried with our deeds.

Fasting is an exceptional form of worship which enables the fasting person to attain such virtues as tenacity, steadfastness, resignation to one’s state, stoicism and especially patience.

We need to protect ourselves against such evil habits as pride, arrogance and destructive jealousy, whose roots are found in Hellfire. For one cannot enter Paradise with a character trait whose root is in Hellfire.

Divine Mercy is manifested at every moment. What matters is to seek the means to that mercy and to make the most of the opportunities we find.
