MESSAGE OF DAY

Whenever Umar ibn Abdulaziz (may the mercy of Allah be upon him) was asked: “What do you love?” he would answer: “I love whatever is in my fate. I love the decree of Allah.”

With what face can an egotistical person concerned for their own self-interest who cannot display  the willpower to forgive Allah’s servants today, seek forgiveness in the presence of Allah tomorrow?

Fariduddîn Attâr remarked: “There are four things that cannot be reclaimed: a word that has left the mouth, an arrow that has left the bow, an accident that has already happened, and a life that has been spent in vain.” 

A person of high rank came to the Prophet to ask him to suspend the punishment of a thief . The Prophet (pbuh) answered him: “I would carry out that punishment even if the culprit were my daughter Fatimah.” (Bukhari, Anbiya’ 54; Muslim, Hudud 8, 9)

Being able to forgive injustices against one’s own person, virtually reducing them to nought, without  feeling even the slightest offence, is the magnum opus of spiritual maturity.

The hearts of those who have no love for others is like untreated soil. Achievement is in our affection for others, because the entire reason for existence is love.

Luqman the Wise says: “There are three things which can only be known by means of three conditions: Kindness in a state of anger; courage, on the battlefield, and fellowship, in time of need.”

Islam commands believers to be careful about protecting the rights of those who are not honored with the guidance of Islam.

“…a man should say to his soul every morning, “God has given thee twenty-four treasures; take heed lest thou lose anyone of them, for thou wilt not be able to endure the regret that will follow such loss.”  ― Abu Hamid al-Ghazali,

May Allah bless our Aid al-Adha Mubarak for all muslims around the World.

Thankfulness is of two kinds: 1) Acknowledgement of the Divine origin of all bounties and engaging in thankfulness by means of one’s words. 2) Expressing thankfulness through one’s actions by offering those bounties to those who are deprived of them.

The heart is to develop and reason is then to increase in rank in accordance with the heart.

Acts of worship are not obligations that are to be undertaken and completed, but must be deemed a debt of gratitude to be observed throughout one’s life and must be honoured constantly.

Allah Almighty gives to whomever He wills in abundance, and to whomever He wills in scarcity. But He holds everyone accountable to the extent of the bounties with which he provides them.

Touching upon several issues, The Prophet (pbuh) said, “There are three conditions of salvation: to act justly in times of anger as well as peace; to spend moderately not only in poverty but also in wealth; and to fear Allah both in private and public. (Haythami, I:90).
